About the CEG Database

Web-based database on international projects in the area of radioactive waste and spent nuclear fuel management in the Russian Federation was developed upon decision of the IAEA Contact Expert Group (CEG). This group was established in 1996 under the IAEA auspices with the aim to promote and facilitate international assistance to Russia in resolution of the most challenging problems mainly related to the Cold War nuclear legacy.

Currently the database is concentrated on projects dealing with dismantling of retired nuclear submarines and remediation of ex-naval nuclear bases. The database is maintained by the CEG Secretariat in cooperation with the CEG partners which provide and update information on their projects on a regular basis.
